Alison Read Printmaker from Lincoln UK.
Hand-made original prints using linocut, screen printing, woodcut and etchings. Alison captures a humour and quirky feel with her animals, from dogs called 'Brain-Box' the Miniature Schnauzer to 'Bridgitte Bardog' the French bulldog. To cats doing bonkers tricks and Highland Cows having 'messy hair days'
Brought up on a farm, she studied art at Newcastle University before running the Printmaking Workshop at Lincoln University for nine years, where she also completed her MA Degree before becoming a full-time artist.
"I love all forms of printmaking. I like the hands on nature of producing a plate and its immediacy. I don't keep highly detailed sketchbooks . . . I think this is why my images are quirky".
